With a 11-0 victory over USA Standing Amputee in the finals in San Jose on April 9, the Michigan Warriors became the first Michigan-based program to capture a national title at a USA Hockey Disabled Festival.

The Warriors, a team composed of Metro Detroit-based disabled veterans who share a love for the game of hockey, posted a 2-1 record in the preliminary round – their only loss coming to the same USA team they would beat in the finals.

They outscored the opposition by a combined 37-4 during the four games; Kevin Gibson and Neeko Muniz led the way with 11 points apiece. Ronald Chapman II tended to the Warriors’ goal for the tournament; he made 69 saves over the four contests.
