MAHA recommends that all of its associations spend time focusing on the growth of their programs.

As a starting point, we suggest that all associations appoint a Growth Coordinator as part of their Board. That person should be responsible for directing all the growth initiatives, as well as developing the yearly Growth Calendar for your local organization. This is a very critical position for the long-term health of your association.

As you begin to develop your growth strategy, you should be aware of the menu of programs and resources provided by USA Hockey and MAHA. In addition, be sure to refer to key articles such as 'Top 3 Reasons Parents Choose Youth Hockey & Stay in the Game.' You'll gain key insights to help steer your recruiting efforts. 

USA Hockey has a Program Services Department, led by Director of Program Services Katie Holmgren. USAH Program Services is focused on acquisition and retention of the four-to-eight-year old age category. Its team has developed a number of resources available for your use on its website.

Locally, MAHA's Affiliate Growth Leader is Jason Reynolds, Director of Operations & Marketing. He is available to you as a resource for growing the game.
