Members of our Michigan Hockey Community:

On behalf of the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA), we’d like to wish all of our members, volunteers and families a safe, Happy New Year!

As we transition into 2022, as well as the final months of our season, we’d like to provide some critical reminders and updates related to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic:

1) On Monday, December 27th the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its recommendations, regarding COVID-19 isolation and quarantine periods. Click here to review the full CDC media release

As indicated in the media release, please note that these updated recommendations do NOT supersede state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules or regulations.

2) As participants and teams continue to compete throughout the state, MAHA expects that all members, participants and families remain mindful of evolving conditions based on the prevalence of COVID-19. Specifically, please remain aware that policies, procedures and recommendations may vary by county throughout the state of Michigan. Please abide by all best practices, as indicated by local county health departments.

3) Participants and teams traveling out-of-state for competition must be mindful of evolving conditions throughout the country. Prior to out-of-state travel, MAHA expects that traveling participants and teams familiarize themselves (and comply) with any out-of-state policies, procedures, recommendations and/or mandates set forth in reaction to the prevalence of COVID-19.

As previously indicated, MAHA must prioritize the safety and well-being of its participants - this is an effort to maintain a safe, enjoyable hockey season. We will continue to provide updates, as they become available, regarding the presence of COVID-19 in the state of Michigan as well as any additional precautionary measures required.

We thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you at the rink in 2022!
