On Monday, USA Hockey announced the list of participants for the upcoming 2022 USAH National Goaltending Camp, which will take place in Plymouth this week.

Twenty-nine goaltenders ranging from 17 to 21 years of age were invited to the camp, and six of them are Michigan natives - all highlighted in the graphic below.

“We’re excited to bring back the National Goaltending Camp after a two-year hiatus,” said David Lassonde, USA Hockey’s national goaltending coach, in a press release. “Our staff is thrilled with the elite group of goalies participating, both on the men’s and women’s side. As we continue the process of identifying potential candidates for our national teams, we are confident the elite nature of the camp will provide USA Hockey with yet another valuable player evaluation tool.”

The Michigan natives, along with their hometown and most-recent team:

  • Trey Augustine - South Lyon - U.S. National Under-17 Team
  • Owen Bartoszkiewicz - Northville - University of Minnesota
  • Gibson Homer - Grand Rapids - Chicago Steel
  • Andrew Oke - Shelby Township - Saginaw Spirit
  • Callie Shanahan - Commerce - Boston University
  • Amanda Thiele - Milford - Ohio State

MAHA would also like to congratulate the goaltenders who have competed for a Michigan-based youth team:

  • Braden Holt - Bozeman, Montana - Everett Silvertips
  • Kaidan Mbereko - Aspen, Colorado - Lincoln Stars
  • Carson Musser - Sherburn, Minnesota - U.S. National Under-17 Team
