MAHA’s Palmer named NHL Stick Tap for Service finalist

One of MAHA’s own has been recognized by the NHL and Navy Federal Credit Union for his contributions to the hockey community.

Mike Palmer, MAHA’s director of disabled hockey, is a finalist in the Stick Tap for Service program, an annual event that recognizes outstanding community service of hockey fans and military members.

Palmer, who became a hockey player, a hockey dad and a hockey coach during his time serving in the military, helped in the creation of the Motor City Veterans Hockey five years ago.

The winner receives a $30,000 donation to charity and a trip to a 2022 Stanley Cup Final game, while first runner-up receives a $10,000 charitable donation and the second runner-up receives a $5,000 charitable donation.

The winner will be announced later this June.
