Olympic gold medalist Megan Keller and the Suburban Hockey Foundation are working together to help grow girls hockey this season.

Through the Megan Keller Growing Girls Hockey grant, one association will receive funding to be used for advertising and marketing girls hockey while minimizing costs for the participants.

“I’m extremely excited to be a part of the Suburban Hockey Foundation and introduce a grant dedicated to growing girls hockey throughout my home state of Michigan,” Keller, a member of the USA Hockey Women’s National Team, said in a press release. “Hockey has taken me all over the world, taught me numerous life lessons and most importantly has given me friendships that will last a lifetime. I hope this grant can help to provide the same opportunities and joy to the next generation that hockey has brought me.”

Organizations applying for the grant must be a USA Hockey-registered association in Michigan. The deadline to apply is Aug. 31, 2022; the recipient of the grant will be notified by Sept. 15.

The Suburban Hockey Foundation was created to contribute to the growth of hockey in Michigan, providing financial support and assistance to hockey families and programs in need.
