For the 2022-23 hockey season, Presidents’ Day marks the first day of USA Hockey’s Hockey Week Across America.

Starting today (Monday), USA Hockey is encouraging its members and the hockey community as a whole to celebrate our sport in a variety of different ways.

Here is the daily activity/theme, as spelled out by the governing body for hockey in our country:

Mon., Feb. 20 – USA Day, #TeamUSA

Show your USA Hockey pride by wearing your favorite red, white and blue gear. We are all filled with national pride, and pride for our USA Hockey teams. Show the world who you represent by tagging @usahockey in your red, white and blue photos and videos on social media.

USA Hockey will be celebrating the day with a golden look back at all of our favorite moments on the international stage.

Tues., Feb. 21 – Hockey is for Everyone Day, #HockeyIsForEveryone

Our mission is to create a fun and welcoming environment for anyone who wants to play hockey!

The ice rink is our sanctuary, and that is where we come together as one. Tell your story by tagging @usahockey in showing how someone introduced you to the game, or how your local association made you and your family feel welcome.

USA Hockey will be celebrating with stories nationwide of how the sport of hockey has impacted families, and how local associations continue to introduce more and more families to the sport we all love.

Wed., Feb. 22 – Stick Salute Day, #StickSalute

We raise our sticks as the ultimate salute in our sport. So many hockey heroes go unnoticed throughout hockey: parents, coaches, families and friends.

Maybe your local volunteer Zam driver, or your town’s legendary coach has had a tremendous impact on your life. This is your chance to let them know how special they are to you, by tagging @usahockey in your stick salute.

USA Hockey will be celebrating with stick salutes of our own coaches, officials, volunteers and local hockey heroes who make our organization so special.

Thurs., Feb. 23 – Hockey History Day, #ThrowbackThursday

Throw it back with USA Hockey, whether it’s your first hockey team photo or a game that stands out in your hockey history. We’ll all be taking a look down memory lane to our favorite hockey memories.

USA Hockey will be celebrating with throwbacks of our national teams, history of hockey and even a couple #TBT photos of your favorite Team USA athletes.

Fri., Feb. 24 – Hockey Jersey Day, #HockeyJerseyDay

It’s back, everyone’s favorite Hockey Week Across America day: Hockey Jersey Day! Wear your favorite hockey jersey all day long with USA Hockey. Whether it’s your local rec or club team, your Team USA Olympic and Paralympic jersey or your favorite professional team's jersey, wear your hockey jersey with pride all day long. Check our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for ways to get involved with the day's activities!

Sat., Feb. 25 – Try Hockey for Free Day, #TryHockey

You’ve been celebrating all week long, and maybe you or a friend are excited to try playing hockey for the first time. Hundreds of local rinks nationwide will be holding free hockey clinics for children ages 4 to 9, with certified coaches and volunteers, at no cost as part of USA Hockey’s Try Hockey For Free Day.

To find participating rinks near you, click here. USA Hockey will be celebrating all day long, sharing the best first steps, falls and smiles on the ice. Make sure to tag @usahockey in all of your photos and videos to join the celebration!

Sun., Feb. 26 – Welcome to Hockey Day, #WelcomeToHockey

Thousands of new children will fall in love with the sport of hockey after participating in Try Hockey For Free Day. So now what?

The entire hockey community can join us in this celebration, as we welcome all of the new hockey families with our favorite stories and advice. Do you remember the first time you tried to put on hockey gear correctly? Or maybe that first goal celebration with teammates hugging your child? No book can supplement the advice from current and former USA Hockey parents on how to get the most out of your child’s hockey experience.

USA Hockey will be celebrating with our favorite stories, and advice, from hockey parents, as well as sharing resources for new parents to better understand the sport and how to give their child an excellent youth sports experience.
