The Michigan Amateur Hockey Association is proud to announce the hiring of Jon Hosking as the organization’s new Hockey Events Manager.

In the new role, Hosking will oversee day-to-day operations and the growth in both participation and the number of key events offered by the MAHA. The role will include the organization and planning of MAHA-sponsored events including State Tournaments, MAHA Showcases, and Player Development Camps. Hosking will also have a critical role in the activation of growth initiatives including Try Hockey For Free.

“We’re thrilled to have Jon join the MAHA team,” said Jason Reynolds, MAHA Director of Operations & Marketing. “Jon has been a long-standing volunteer leader in our community, so he’s very familiar with our organization and its membership. His hockey background makes him a natural fit for this new role.”

Hosking, a resident of Oxford, brings a wealth of business and hockey experience to his new role. With over 20 years of experience as a USA Hockey CEP Coordinator, Hosking has served MAHA as a District Director for nearly 7 years. Since 2017, Hosking has also served as General Manager for the Polar Palace Arena Complex in Lapeer, and most recently the 140 Ice Den in Howell. In addition, Hosking has worked in sales and management for global brands such as Pepsi-Cola and Dr. Pepper Snapple Group.

“I would like to thank the MAHA for this opportunity to play a role in making all of our events the best that they can be, as well as assisting in growing the game in Michigan,” Hosking said. “Hockey has provided my family with some wonderful memories, and I hope I can help our current generation of families make lifelong memories.”

Hosking is a graduate of Michigan State University, with a B.A. in Labor Relations and Industrial Psychology.
