APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOR THREE SUBURBAN HOCKEY FOUNDATION GRANTS

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The Suburban Hockey Foundation is proud to announce that applications of three grants are now available on suburbanhockeyfoundation.org. The Suburban Hockey Foundation contributes to the growth of hockey in Michigan by providing financial support and assistances to hockey families in need throughout the state.

The three grants include: The Assist: A Hardship Grant for Families, The Megan Keller Growing Girls Hockey Grant, and The Assist: A Hardship Grant for Residents of Royal Oak. In two seasons, we have now assisted 27 players with $12,500 in Assist Grants.

The Assist Grants were created to provide financial assistance for families in need. Hardships may include but are not limited to death of a family member, major accident, acute illness, loss of a job, etc.

The Megan Keller Growing Girls Hockey Grant provides grant awards to 8U and 10U female hockey programs in Michigan. The grant is to be used exclusively to develop programs focused on increasing female youth participation in hockey by alleviating costs around ice and equipment, advertising and marketing and overall development.

New this year, the Suburban Hockey Foundation is offering Assist Grants to Royal Oak families with children ages 3-16 years old. This grant was created to provide financial assistance for families in need.

“The game of hockey has been such a huge part of all of our lives,” said Tom Anastos, CEO of Suburban Sports Group. “It’s provided so many great experiences and life lessons as well as many opportunities for families to create friendships and special memories that last a lifetime. It is our goal to help more people enjoy these experiences. We think it’s incredibly important to help families in need and provide assistance to organizations that create opportunities for kids to experience the game.”

All grant applications will be received until September 30, 2024, and recipients will be notified by October 15, 2024.  Grant details and applications are available at suburbanhockeyfoundation.org.
