MAHA requested an exception to the requirement that all games in the 8U age level shall be played cross-ice or half-ice, per USAH Rules and Regulations, Definition of a game.

The following is the exception granted for the 14-15 season to put MAHA in compliance with this USAH Rule.

Effective January 1, 2015, 8-year old players may, while remaining in their cross-ice / half-ice program, be placed on another team and play not more than 12 full-ice games as an extension of the cross-ice / half-ice program.

These teams can be formed as either draft or select teams and will be rostered in accordance with the selection criteria used. They may play in regional leagues, with or without playoffs, to a maximum game count of 12 full ice games; exhibition and invitational tournament games included. Any number of cross-ice / half-ice games can be played.
