Girls Tier 1 (AAA)

Tier I Hockey (AAA) is to provide an opportunity for the best Michigan Girl's players to develop and compete at the highest level of hockey available in the United States.  In Michigan there are 4 full Tier one organizations in Michigan that compete at the 19U, 16U, 14U and 12U AAA age level.  These teams play in several highly competitive regional and National Tier 1 leagues.

Each MAHA Tier 1 organization (12U, 14U, 16U and 19U girls) must play the other Tier 1 organizations three (3) times within their respective age/division classification, excluding tournaments.  The three games played will determine the seeding for the MAHA State Playoffs.  Each team is required to play one (1) home game, one (1) away game, and one (1) additional game.  Schedules and standings will be posted on the MAHA website.  The Tier 1 organizations will meet prior to the beginning of the season with the MAHA Vice-President of Girl's and Women to create the administrative logistics (i.e.: game playing rules, critical dates, home team for the third games, protesting, standings, etc.).  Below you can see the standings of those games.

All games need to be played and scores entered into the MAHA website by February 15, 2023.

Teams will receive two (2) points for a win and one (1) point for a tie.  If there is a tie in points after the round robin games, the following tiebreakers will be used to break the tie.  If three (3) or more teams are tied, once a tie is broken, that team is seeded, and the tiebreaker process starts again between the remaining tied teams.

  • Most Wins
  • Most wins against the other tied teams
  • Goal Differential - Goals scored minus goals against versus the other tied teams.
  • Goal Quotient - Goals scored divided by goals against versus the other tied teams.
