GRAND RAPIDS, MI – August 28, 2024 – The Michigan Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA) will kick off the 2024-25 season with its annual MAHA Tier I Showcase, to be held at Buffalo Wild Wings Arena (formerly Troy Sports Center) on September 6-8, 2024.
The event will highlight the 14U - 18U Divisions from all of Michigan’s Tier I (AAA) organizations. Teams from each division will compete in a three-game schedule over the course of the weekend, occupying all rinks at Buffalo Wild Wings Arena.
“The Tier I Showcase is a one-of-a-kind experience for all participants,” stated Jason Reynolds, MAHA Director of Operations & Marketing. “It makes for an exciting weekend of hockey when you can assemble a collection of top talent from across Michigan under one roof. This event is one the players look forward to every year and, for MAHA, it’s a great way to highlight the launch of a new season.”
Originally launched in 2019, this will be the fifth year the MAHA Tier I Showcase is held at Buffalo Wild Wings Arena. The 2020 event was forced into cancellation, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Showcase made a triumphant return in 2021.
“The Tier I Showcase is a very exciting, high-visibility event,” explains Jon Hosking, MAHA Hockey Events Manager. “Each year, we’re aware that there will be a lot of eyes on these games – whether it’s coaches, administrators or scouts from college and junior programs. We want the action to be as accessible as possible, whether spectators are in the building or streaming online from another location. That exposure may lead to future opportunities for a lot of these players.”
Games will be streamed online by MiHockey.TV – single game and full showcase packages will be made available for live streaming.
